Architectural Designer for Residential Projects
Qualifications:
- A degree in Architecture, Residential Design, Architectural Drafting, or a related field
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of residential design and space planning
- Understanding of wood frame construction materials and methods
- Thorough knowledge of building codes, local zoning, and jurisdictional requirements
- Superior technical skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to manage design projects from start to finish while meeting critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with both interior and exterior residential projects, including additions and specialty projects
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a creative team to provide unique design solutions for clients
- Involved in every step of the project, including site analysis, due diligence, schematic design charettes, design development, working with engineers and trade partners, construction drawings, permitting, and the start of construction
- Manage diverse projects in scope, design direction, and budget
- Specialize in interior projects (e.g., kitchens, bathrooms, family rooms, home offices) and exterior projects (e.g., patios, decks, porches, outdoor kitchens)
- Lead and design special projects (e.g., whole house remodeling, accessory dwelling units, home music rooms, media studios, hidden rooms, etc.)

We are seeking an Architect or an Architecturally trained Designer with a minimum of 5-8 years of residential design and wood frame construction experience, preferably in a residential remodeling or homebuilding company. We are looking for a team player who puts both internal and external customers first, is solutions-oriented, and respects the process we follow to get the job done.
In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team whose focus is to provide creative, one-of-a-kind design solutions for our clients. You will touch the project every step of the way, from site analysis and due diligence, to schematic design charettes and design development, working with engineers and trade partners, through the construction drawing phase, to working with local jurisdictions through permitting, and to the eventual start of construction. Every project is different in both scope, design direction, and budget.

- A degree in Architecture / Residential Design / Architectural Drafting or similar experience

- Knowledge of residential design and space planning
- Understanding of wood frame construction materials and methods
